About me
Hello! I’m Mina Shakarshy, a Philly based artist and designer. I’m half Iranian, half Philadelphian, and I grew up in Margate, NJ (aka the Jersey shore).
I went to Brown University, where I created my own major that focused on digital design and perception. This field of study combined cognitive science, visual arts, and computer science. I have worked at multiple fortune 500 companies as a product designer. Through which I gained a confidence in UX and visual design, information architecture, and UX research; seeing projects through from concept to completion. I have also worked at multiple fast paced startups, where I’ve learned to be more scrappy, working with less resources while still producing high quality results. I am currently working as a Staff Product Designer at the startup Modern Health, where I continue to hone my product design and leadership skills.
When I'm not working, I enjoy getting creative with clay sculpting, drawing, and painting. I also love being active, and enjoy ultimate frisbee, squash, tennis, and hiking. I like going to the movies, seeing live music, and exploring new Philly restaurants. I am passionate about mental health and social justice.
